Painting to me is about the interaction between the discipline of observation and the spontaneity of mark making in terms of my physical and emotional response to the subject. I use a variety of mediums to try and create pictures that are filled with immediacy, colour and energy.
I have an MA in printmaking and studied oil painting for many years in London with Oliver Bevan. I have also studied part-time at Morley College and at the St Ives School of Painting with Roy Ray.
